You can think of it as a blend of squash and tennis. Padel uses solid, perforated rackets and the ball can be bounced off the side of the court (much like squash). It's played on an enclosed court about a third of the size of a tennis court.

The game is played on a badminton-sized court with a short tennis net. Players use wide paddles and perforated balls. The objective is to volley the ball, letting it bounce once on the opponent's side – a bit like an oversized version of table tennis.

Pickleball was invented in the US in 1965, originally as a children's backyard game. Nowadays, it's played globally and is picking up pace as a serious competitive sport.

Our padel tennis and pickleball courts are set within a converted barn and are accessed via the entrance to the Aqua Park. It is well signposted.

Padel is typically played in doubles (two versus two). Pickleball can be played by two or four players.

Yes. Anyone can play, as long as they can safely participate. However, we do ask that children under 16 be supervised by an adult.

Yes. The court is open to all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned players.

Players must wear non-marking trainers. We recommend comfortable sportswear, too (these are fast-paced sports).

While the barn is sheltered, the temperature can vary. Make sure to dress in layers if the weather looks chilly.

Yes. The court has full floodlighting, so it's great for evening or low-light sessions.
